Building upon the success of our first India User Forum in 2016, we are pleased to announce that our second India User Forum will take place on 18th July in Pune and 20th July in Chennai.
Aimed at engineering professionals within OEMs in the automotive, industrial, off-road, bearing and marine industries, the Romax India User Forum is the perfect meeting place to learn more about electro-mechanical drivetrain design, analysis and optimisation, technology integration and process optimisation.
This year's Forum will offer a selection of keynote speakers from Industry and Government discussing Industry 4.0 the future of design and development, design to manufacture simulation and the impact that these will have on future transmission and drivetrain technology.
Romax will also discuss in detail our new R17 software solution which introduces ground breaking new capabilities in electric powertrain simulation and analysis. Romax Solutions continue to lead the market in transmission and driveline NVH simulation, bearing contact analysis, gear technology and process integration and automation.

Dr Melanie Michon - Team Leader - Electrification, R&D
Melanie has gained a PhD degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Sheffield, and MSc and BEng degrees in Electrical Engineering from Eindhoven University of Technology and Hogeschool Limburg in The Netherlands, respectively. She has sixteen years of professional experience leading to a strong expertise in the fields of electrical machines and power electronics for automotive and renewable energy applications. She joined Romax in April 2014 as R&D Programme Manager, where she has managed a range of collaborative R&D projects in automotive, aerospace and wind and successfully set up partnerships and gained funding for collaborative research. Her current role involves developing and commercialising new electro-mechanical design and analysis capabilities, as well as continuing to seek new opportunities for research partnerships.
Dr Jamie Pears is the Head of Product Management at Romax Technology. He has a MSc and PhD in Physics from Nottingham University, UK. As Product Manager of CONCEPT and RomaxDESIGNER, as well as overall Head of Product Management, Jamie is involved in setting the overall direction of the Romax Technology software products, communicating with customers and directing the software development team.
Mr Neelkanth Marathe is Senior Deputy Director in ARAI, Pune and heads the Power Train Engineering division. He is responsible for engine and transmission design and development projects.
With more than 30 years of experience, Mr Marathe has led several major engine R&D projects for both domestic and overseas OEMs. He has designed and developed a good number of new engines from a clean sheet, many of them have been commercialised successfully.
His individual domain strength and expertise include cylinder head & port design, crank-train design, valve-train design, engine layout & packaging, combustion tuning and emission reduction, etc., specialising in diesel engines used in a variety of uses ranging from a small 3-wheeler to a large heavy duty defence applications.
Mr Marathe has graduated in mechanical engineering from University of Jabalpur - India. He has authored several technical papers in International and National conferences. He is an active member of “Standing Committee on Emissions for Genset Diesel engines”. He is also Chairman of the BIS TED-2 committee for “Prime-movers and Transmissions”.
An M2M/IoT expert and evangelist, Narendra is a qualified professional with 18 years of progressive experience in Telecom, M2M/IoT & Industrial IoT (IIoT), Smart Manufacturing and Digital Transformation. He currently works in the capacity of a consultant in IoT & Digital Manufacturing - Industry 4.0 with Tata Technologies. Mr Saini is associated with M2M/IoT Asia Pacific group as Chief Evangelist, and with TSDSI & TEC for IoT standard development in India. He is an alumnus of IIT - Delhi & Roorkee and holds dual Masters in Science & Technology. Mr Saini is also supporting several startups and contributing as mentor & adviser towards strategy & innovation to support the Technology Startup ecosystem in India.
Mr Benny Thomas is a Scientist and Group Director for the Gas turbine research establishment, for the Defence Research and Development Organisation. He has B Tech in Mechanical from TKM Engg. College, Kollam, Kerala, in1995 and an ME-Mechanical from IISc Bangalore, in 2008
Benny joined DRDO in 1996, he Worked as the resident manager, GTRE at HAL(KPT), Orissa from 1997 to 2000 where he was responsible for the manufacture of aero engine gearbox, compressor/fan and turbine disc.
His achievements include; Designing the first lightweight gearbox for the Aero Engine program (Design of high-speed spur, spiral bevel gears, shafts, splines, gearbox casing, forced jet lubrication circuit, mounts), designing and developing high-speed gearbox and drive units for short application, the development and full scale testing of accessory gearboxes, designing and developing high speed gear pumps, designing and developing high speed rigs through joint development programs, and the indigenization of critical aero components.
Kishor Nikam holds a master’s degree (M. Tech.) in chemical engineering from IIT Bombay (Indian Institute of Technology). He has over 19 years of professional experience and currently leading Engineering Simulation and HPC Center of Excellence (CoE), which is a part of larger Design to Manufacturing (D2M) CoE. Prior to joining TCS, he has worked with TATA-CRL, Intel Corporation, Applied Thermal Technologies and Flowmaster. His main areas of interest are engineering simulations, computational fluid dynamics, thermal management, product development and testing, high performance computing and project management. He has published over 25 research papers at national and international levels and filed two patents.
