Why we are active supporters of STEM

Mirelle Ball,

At Romax, we are committed to supporting the global industry in lowering CO2 emissions by providing key software solutions to create efficiencies in the design and development of electro-mechanical drive systems. Our engineers are passionate about playing a role in technology development and in adopting new technologies in our desire to engineer a better world.

In the UK, STEM Learning is the largest provider of education and careers support in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). Working with schools, colleges and other young people across the UK, the unique partnership is made up of Government, charitable trusts and employers dedicated to raising young people’s engagement and achievement in STEM subjects and careers.

As part of our ethos, we recognise the importance of nurturing future generations. Romax is hugely committed to educating and recruiting new talent through its graduate and intern schemes and in developing future skillsets and technologies crucial to bridging the gap to support creating a carbon neutral climate.

Romax’s employees possess unparalleled expertise in numerous technical and engineering domains such as mathematics, systems, control systems, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, vibration, electro-magnetism, tribology and more; capable of working in many industries including software development, research, engineering and consultancy for the automotive, electrification, wind energy, aerospace, bearings, rail, off high-way and defence.

We pride ourselves on our first-class leadership and employees, of which 45+ out of 240 globally hold a master’s degree, with 30+ of our employees educated to PhD level. We are also unique in our culture, employing over 20+ nationalities we encourage a diverse workforce. With all of these specialisms in engineering, we can communicate to support young people learning about engineering.

Promoting STEM Learning

Romax has been actively supporting STEM for eight years now, our involvement has included speaking at events and fairs on the importance of engineering in society and business. Demonstrating our software to school children to highlight the importance of science and maths and engineering in the world.

Several our employees are STEM Ambassadors, volunteers who bring a wide range of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) related jobs and disciplines. We’ve also participated in activities such as providing careers Interview training for 6th form children and talking to school children about career options that involve engineering.

We believe it’s important to offer our time and passion to help bring STEM subjects to life and demonstrate the value of them in life and careers. Our organisation is unique in its skillset and we can offer a lot by sharing our experiences in STEM topics.

Romax Technology is a world-leading, award-winning, global organisation and our engineers are living proof that being able to work in an organisation that’s at the forefront of technology development and adoption has a major role to play in supporting the world’s biggest problem: climate change.

Engineering isn’t just a job, it’s about critical thinking, creating solutions, based on practical maths and science and is one of the most rewarding jobs you can hope to achieve, this is the message we leave with the young people we connect with.
