Cyclone24 – Charity cycle

Six Engineers and Software Designers from Romax Technology have decided to undertake a 24-hour cycle “race” around Derby Velodrome on 9 & 10 February 2019. The charity cycle forms part of Romax’ ongoing support for the Charity; Framework.

Each year Romax employees vote for a charity of their choice to manage and host events round the calendar year to raise money for their charity of choice. In 2018 the company chose Framework, a charity for the homeless. The Framework charity exists to tackle the causes and consequences of homelessness, and help support people who are homeless, in trying to actively prevent people from becoming homeless and support those people to live independently.

Rhys Jones, Mechanical Engineer taking part in the cycle said ‘It is a great privilege to participate in this activity in raising money for Romax’s chosen Charity. Framework support more than 11,000 people every year – people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. Homelessness can affect anyone, the young, the old at any time in their lives and we feel very passionate as an organization to be conscious of our corporate social responsibility. Whilst we don’t intend to win the event, even completing it will be a huge achievement.’
