Honoured by the Queen
CEO and Founder of Romax Technology, Dr. Siu Yun Poon and Mr. Michael Barnes, Chief Engineer are to visit Buckingham Palace on Monday 13th July 2009 after we were awarded the equivalent of a company knighthood in this year’s Queen’s Awards for Enterprise.
Dr. Poon and Michael Barnes will attend a special evening reception for 2009 Queen’s Award winners, to be hosted by Her Majesty The Queen and other members of the Royal Family.
We won our Queen’s Award in the International Trade category in April this year. We ahave been recognised for successfully increasing international sales more than threefold over the last six years.
“This is the second time we have received the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade,” said Financial Director at Romax Technology, Paul Atkin. “In 2004 we were acknowledged and rewarded for our achievements in this area of business and we are extremely proud to be recognised once again for our success.”
“Industry accolades are all a valued symbol of prestige amongst our peers, but we are amongst a highly select band of winners who are able to have the added status of receiving the British Monarch’s approval.”
The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise exist to champion the UK’s most enterprising, creative and sustainable organisations from all business sectors. Companies can apply for an Award in three categories; International Trade, Innovation or Sustainable Development. It costs nothing to enter, and The Awards are open to any UK-based business with two or more employees.
