Romax Wins UKTI International Business of the Year Award 2009
Romax Technology, based in Nottingham, UK, was named the East Midlands International Business of the Year last week at the fourth annual UKTI East Midlands International Business Awards. The global company also received the Established Exporter China Award at the ceremony, which was sponsored by East Midlands China Business Bureau (EMCBB) and The East Midlands India Business Bureau (EMIBB), and was runner up in the Established Exporter Worldwide Award.
The Awards celebrate the achievements and successes of all the East Midlands Companies who are trading internationally and who are making a real difference to the prosperity of the region. The evening was a testament to the ability of East Midlands companies who embrace the challenge of competing internationally, of remaining resilient in tough and demanding trading conditions and of achieving growth and long term sustainability. The East Midlands International Business of the Year winner is recognized as an ambassador for the region’s industry, innovation and expertise.
As a technical solutions and software provider for both the transport and energy industries, Romax has found their expertise in the design and analysis of gearboxes, bearings and drivetrains in increasing demand. With offices spanning Europe, South Korea, India, the USA, Japan and China, Romax recognize the need for a strategic approach for each international market. A key element of this is the need for a high level of customer support both throughout the design process from pre-sales to after sales support. Often this support needs to be available to the customer within their own territory. Romax has actively sought native speaking and foreign nationals from the key territories they work within with the relevant skills and experience to ensure they can deliver the highest level of customer support and this has been vital to Romax’s global success.
Dr. Peter Poon, Chief Executive of Romax , said, “These Awards acknowledge how the nominees have demonstrated an innovative and strategic approach that enables them to enter the markets and how they have adapted products and services to meet local and cultural needs. I believe this sums up perfectly the way in which we grown our business. We have entered new territories and ensured that we have adapted to meet the demands of the local market. Winning the Established Exporter award in China is a great achievement for us. The last twelve months have seen a huge demand for our products and services all over the world, especially in China. However, to be chosen by the UKTI judging panel to receive the East Midlands International Business of the Year Award was remarkable and we are immensely proud to receive this recognition,” concluded Dr Poon.
