Romax awarded GL A-Design Assessment certification for DONLY 2MW gearbox

Romax Technology’s latest 2MW gearbox design for Chinese manufacturer DONLY has passed stringent GL A-DA certification via a rigorous on-site testing and inspection procedure.

The three day process was overseen by GL engineer, supported by members of Romax’s gearbox engineering team and witnessed by representatives from the China Wind Energy Association and wind turbine OEMs.

GL A-DA is the highest level of certification in the industry for component level, and represents the culmination of successful collaboration between Romax and DONLY, one of China’s premium industrial gearbox manufacturers.

Mr Song Jilong, Chairman of DONLY said “This is a significant achievement in DONLY’s continued progression in wind energy, and one that has been possible through the continued specialist support of Romax Technology. We intend to use this 2MW gearbox to both advance our standing in the Chinese wind energy and establish DONLY’s position as a global wind gearbox supplier.”

The 2MW DONLY gearbox is one of a series of Romax designed gearboxes to have recently gained this level of certification from GL.
