Romax Technology appear on BBC Sunday Politics show
Romax Technology have recently appeared on the BBC ‘Sunday Politics’ show surrounding their success in securing RGF funding. Romax were one of only a few East Midlands based companies who received the funding, which will be used to support the development of a number of ongoing collaborative research projects designed to address the needs of the growing UK offshore wind market and help the wind industry to develop optimised drivetrain solutions that are reliable and efficient; decreasing the overall cost of wind energy worldwide. The fund will massively impact on the region’s economy in promising local green jobs.
During the filming, several Romax Technology employees were interviewed with regards to the companies success in securing the Regional Growth Fund grant, which will play a role in assisting the company in it’s major growth ambitions over the next few years. When talking about what the funding meant for Romax, CEO Dr. Peter Poon, MBE, said ‘Romax are currently growing, with a target of between 30% and 40% and are expected to double in size over the next few years.’
Annabel Shahaj, Research and Development Manager at Romax Technology said: ‘This is really good for the Nottingham region because we’ll be creating lots of new jobs over the next few years. We also bring in a lot of business from across the world’.
The video showed clips from Romax’ testing facility and monitoring centre from its Head Quarters in Nottingham.
Dr. Poon’s final statement outlined the companies vision moving forward – ‘If you want to grow you have to be number one in what you’re doing. So we’re aiming to be number one’.
