TU Darmstadt uses Romax software to investigate parallel systems for plug-in hybrid EVs

Technische Universität Darmstadt’s Institute for Mechatronic Systems in Mechanical Engineering (IMS) combines classical mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and computer science. Their aim is to deliver innovation and pioneer cutting-edge research in the transmission market, with a current focus on optimising the development of novel engineering concepts for extended range electric vehicles.

In their most recent project, Technische Universität Darmstadt used Romax software to investigate various parallel hybrid systems for plug-in hybrid electric vehicles. Their research is supported by design simulation and analysis in RomaxDESIGNER, with CAD FUSION allowing full interoperability with CAD tools. Romax software allowed them to investigate various parallel hybrid systems, and resulted in an innovative transmission concept that is highly efficient in both electric and hybrid driving modes.
