Interactive Sound Quality Evaluation Of An EV Virtual Prototype
Date:
Presented by: Rabah Hadjit, HBK | Alexis Talbot, Free Field Technologies | Travis Histed, Romax Technology
In this presentation, Romax, FFT and POWERSYS present a process to perform evaluation of an EV virtual prototype using an interactive NVH Simulator. CAE simulation is used to characterize the EV powertrain noise and vibration sources due to the electric machine and gearbox. Transfer functions measured on a surrogate vehicle are used to propagate the sources to the driver’s ears. We then demonstrate how to use this virtual prototype for interactive sound quality evaluation through a simulated driving experience which can be performed without a physical prototype.
