Using RomaxDESIGNER for optimal bearing design, considering rib to roller contact truncation
This webinar demonstrated RomaxDESIGNER being used to determine if rib to roller contact truncation is occurring, and to subsequently improve the bearing design so truncation is eliminated.
We briefly looked at bearing types to determine the likelihood of rib loading, then used an example model to find rib to roller contact ellipse truncation. Continuing with this example, we looked at the ellipse truncations to understand what is being reported. Finally, we corrected the problem by running a parametric study of possible options and selecting a viable solution.
