What’s new in R20?
- Gear root stress improvements – calculation of virtual strain gauges in the normal plane in addition to transverse, for easier comparison with experiments, and gear root stress mesh properties for proxy planets to speed up modelling.
- Improvements to parametric study and batch running – additional variables, actions and results, mostly related to gears and gear root stress analysis (generating profile shift, additional gear mesh results, gear rim thickness, gear scuffing, sinusoidal pitch error, root stress graphs, settings and image results, phase of input to output TE harmonics, and bearing axial clearance). These new options further expand Enduro’s capability for automation and optimisation, particularly for gear design.
- Connection manager introduced to speed up the modelling of complex shaft arrangements, with automatic detection of connection locations, and to aid auditing of connections to reduce modelling errors.
- Memory and speed improvements for FE components resulting in faster model loading, managing of large FE components and more efficient memory usage.
- Pressure velocity plot available as part of gear micro geometry results allowing users to study the shear forces acting on the gear lubricant to assess potential thermal degradation, damage and loss.
- Import reference geometry directly from CAD for effective visualisation and communication.
- New bearing database from Nachi-Fujikoshi.
- Additional summary reports for backlash and material properties, useful for model auditing and checking.
